For 37 years the Long Beach Ballet has been training dancers, presenting performances in the U.S. and abroad, developing a reputation for high standards, and producing all of our own marketing materials. What we haven’t been doing is focusing on fund-raising events or developing important relationships with corporate, political, and funding contacts. That is until Susan Malecki walked into my office a little over a year ago and changed the direction of Long Beach Ballet’s path forever. The first event that was suggested by Ms. Malecki was a luncheon celebrating our annual production of The Nutcracker. Her experience of working with the world renown San Francisco Ballet is what initially sold me on the idea, but I soon learned that her dynamic pursuit of excellence and her willingness to help us develop important relationships was far beyond what I had expected. The event was spectacular and will most definitely become an annual addition to our already very successful Nutcracker season. I look forward to many years of successful funding projects under Ms. Malecki’s guidance, as it appears that her experience working with high-level non-profit events is unsurpassed!
